Satyrykon has been organized in Legnica since 1977. This is one of the world’s most important competitions for visual artists. Every year, Satyrykon receives thousands of works by artists from all over the world. For many years, the competition proposals can be sent in two thematic sections, in which the following prizes are awarded: gold, silver and bronze medals, and two distinctions. The main prize, i.e. the Satyrykon Grand Prix, is selected from both departments.
We are pleased to announce the next – already 46th – edition of the Satyrykon competition, and with it a few changes. Before we move on to them, however, let’s start with the most important issue: two topics that artists will struggle with. So – the theme of the SATYRYKON 2023 edition is EGO! Of course, as every year, you can also submit your works to the second, slightly more general category, which is JOKE & SATIRE.
We are waiting for the works until January 5, 2023, 11:59 a.m. Polish time zone. And here’s an important change! We are moving with the times, so we accept applications for the competition online through a special form available on our refreshed Satyrykon website at the link:

We want to make it easier to apply for the competition. We have simplified the formula for submitting proposals to an absolute minimum. The only thing that should be remembered is the format and size of the attached works – says Paulina Maciejewska, responsible for the organization of Satyrykon.
When the competition is over, it will be time for an international Jury (its composition is still shrouded in mystery), which will select the works qualified for the second stage. Hence the straight path to the most enjoyable part of the work, i.e. the session in Legnica, where the jurors will see the physically submitted works and award statutory prizes. In addition to the aforementioned awards, we also award statuettes – medals for the winners of the main awards, traditional diplomas – graphics and the one most important – a golden key for the Grand Prix laureate.
I don’t think we need to encourage more. Grab pencils, brushes, chisels, cameras, or (for lovers of electronic forms) computer mice and … get to work!

Qualification for competition exhibition will be announced on 25th January 2023 at Satyrykon website www.satyrykon.pl
Deadline for work originals delivery: 6th March 2023
Jury meeting: March 10-12, 2023
The competition results will be announced to 12th March 2023.
Post-competition exhibition: June – August, 2023
Return of the works after the exhibition cycle: 31 XII 2024
